Frequently asked questions

Choosing a pillow

Which CPAP pillow should I choose?

The Advanced is our most supportive. Deep cut-outs on both sides, moulded foam, and a choice of three heights and two fills. It's the one most people end up with.

The Original is softer and fibre-filled, closer to an ordinary pillow. Choose it if you find contoured foam too firm.

The Travel is a compact version at 0.4kg, made for taking away rather than for everyday use at home.

What size do I need?

Medium suits most adults. Large gives more height for broader shoulders or a wider mask frame. Small is shaped for children and smaller adults.

A simple test: if you currently sleep on one standard pillow, choose Medium. If you stack two, choose Large.

Standard or memory foam?

Standard foam is springy and holds its shape. Memory foam moulds to you under pressure and feels softer, though some people find it warmer to sleep on. Both have the same shape and cut-outs.

I'm between sizes. What should I do?

Email us before you order. Tell us your usual pillow setup and which mask you wear, and we'll tell you which we'd pick. We'd rather spend five minutes on that than process a return.

Using your pillow

Will it work with my mask?

Our CPAP pillows suit nasal masks, full-face masks, nasal pillow masks, and BiPAP or NIV setups. The cut-outs give the mask and tubing clearance on either side.

Can I sleep on my back?

Yes. The contoured surface supports your head and neck on your back as well as your side.

How long does it take to get used to?

A shaped pillow feels different from a flat one, and most people take a few nights to settle. If it still feels wrong after a week, it's probably the wrong height rather than the wrong pillow.

How do I wash it?

The covers are removable. Advanced and Travel covers are machine washable. The Original cover is hand wash only. Never wash the foam itself — spot clean if needed and let it dry fully.

Bed wedges

What can I use a bed wedge for?

Three ways. Under your pillow to sleep at a raised angle. Behind your back when sitting up in bed. Or at the foot of the bed with your legs resting on the slope.

Which width should I choose?

Sharing a double bed, the 61cm suits most people. Sharing a king or larger, choose the 91.5cm. Measure across your bed if you're unsure.

Which foam?

Standard is soft but supportive, and the best value. Memory foam has a top layer that moulds under pressure. Graphite latex is cooler to lie on, hypoallergenic, and made without FR chemicals — the most expensive of the three.

Does it go under the mattress?

No. It sits on top of your mattress, under your pillow.
